What is Scoliosis?

Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine curves to the left or right (scoliosis) or curves too far forward or backward, causing the spine to lose its natural curve and cause severe pain.

Signs of Scoliosis?

  • The spine is not aligned.
  • The slope of the two shoulders is not the same, one is lower than the other.
  • The shoulder blades protrude abnormally.
  • The distance from the two bone tips to the shoulder blades is not equal.
  • The waist triangle created between the body and the arms is not the same in width and narrowness.
  • When the spine is twisted, the ribs protrude, the waist is unbalanced.
  • If there is a hunchback, the back is round, the shoulders are low, the abdomen is protruding, the head is tilted forward. If there is an arch, the upper part of the body is slightly tilted back, the abdomen is sagging.

When the scoliosis becomes severe, the patient may experience other accompanying symptoms such as:

  • Back pain.
  • Inability to stand up straight.
  • Leg pain, numbness or significant weakness.
  • Bowel or bladder dysfunction.

Complications of Scoliosis
